O húngaro Norbert Michelisz (Hyundai/BRC), o espanhol Mikel Azcona (Cupra/PWR) e o português Tiago Monteiro (Honda/KCMG) foram os vencedores da sexta etapa do FIA World Touring Car Cup, disputada no Circuito International de Vila Real, em Portugal.
No sábado (06/07) Norbert Michelisz venceu a primeira prova da etapa. Foi a segunda vitória do húngaro no ano. O francês Yann Ehrlacher (Lynk & co/Cyan) e o brasileiro Augusto Farfus, parceiro de equipe de Michelisz, completaram o pódio.
Neste domingo (07/07) Azcona conquistou a sua primeira vitória na categoria. O chinês Ma Qinghua (Alfa Romeo/Mulsanne), foi o segundo, seguido pelo argentino Esteban Guerrieri (Honda/Münnich).
Farfus teve problemas no motor do carro, e abandonou.
Monteiro fez a festa dos torcedores, ao vencer a terceira prova. Foi a primeira vitória do ex-piloto de F-1 na categoria. O francês Yvan Muller, e o seu sobrinho e parceiro de equipe Ehrlacher, completaram o pódio.
Farfus novamente com problemas no motor, abandonou.
Guerrieri lidera o campeonato com 231 pontos, seguido por Michelisz com 206.
A próxima etapa acontece acontece nos dias 14 e 15 de setembro, no Circuito Internacional de Ningbo, na China.
