V8 Supercars Australia: Scott McLaughlin vence o Australian Grand Prix

O neozelandês Scott McLaughlin (Volvo/Polestar GRM) venceu neste domingo o Australian Grand Prix, em Melbourne, evento que não conta pontos para o campeonato, e fez parte da programação do GP da Austrália de F-1.

O neozelandês Shane Van Gisbergen (Holden/ Tekno) venceu as três primeiras provas do evento, e alinhou na pole para a prova decisiva (que valia o dobro dos pontos). Contudo com um problema mecânico logo no warm-up, Van Gisberg terminou apenas na 14 posição.

McLaughlin venceu a primeira vitória de um Volvo em 17 anos. Com a pontuação dobrada, McLaughlin conquistou o Australian Grand Prix.Â

McLaughlin somou 329 pontos, dez a mais do que o australiano Craig Lowndes (Holden/ Triple Eight). O australiano Michael Caruso (Nissan/ Kelly) foi o terceiro com 299 pontos, seguido pelo neozelandes Fabian Coulthard (Holden/BJR) com 298 e Van Gisbergen com 287 pontos.
