A Peugeot dominou nesta quarta-feira (09/06), o primeiro treino classificatório para as 24 Horas de Le Mans, com os quatro melhores tempos. O francês Sébastien Bourdais quebrou a barreira de 3m20s, marcando o tempo de 3m19s711. O francês Simon Pagenaud e o português Pedro Lamy são os parceiros de Bourdais no protótipo francês.
O austrÁaco Alexander Wurz, em trio com o inglês Anthony Davidson e o espanhol Marc Gené, fez o segundo tempo. O terceiro melhor, o francês Stéphane Sarrazin, divide o terceiro Peugeot com os compatriotas Franck Montagny e Nicolas Minassian.
O Peugeot não oficial da equipe Oreca, com os franceses Olivier Panis/ Nicolas Lapierre/ Loic Duval, ficou em 3º. Lapierre foi quem marcou o tempo.
Depois dos Peugeot a Audi, sua principal rival na prova, ocupou as três posições seguintes. Dois Lola-Aston Martin completaram os dez primeiros.
O brasileiro Thomas Erdos (Lola-HPD/ RML) fez o 21º tempo no geral, e o 5º na Classe LMP2. Os ingleses Mike Newton e Andy Wallace são seus parceiros.
O italiano Giamaria Bruni (Ferrari F430/ Risi) foi o 31º melhor tempo no geral e primeiro na Classe GT2. Ele tem como parceiros no carro o brasileiro Jaime Melo e o alemão Pierre Kaffer.
O alemão Uwe Alzen ((BMW M3 E92/ BMW) foi o 45º no geral e 10º na Classe GT2.
