Blancpain GT Series Sprint Cup: Stuart Leonard/Robin Frijns são os campeões de 2017

A dupla formada pelo britânico Stuart Leonard e o holandês Robin Frijns (Audi R8 LMS/WRT) conquistou o título da temporada 2017 do Blancpain GT Series Sprint Cup.

A última etapa da temporada aconteceu neste final de semana em Nurburgring, na Alemanha. No sábado (17/09) a primeira prova, a classificatória, a vitória ficou com a dupla Frank Perera/Max Buhk (Mercedes AMG/HTP), seguidos pela dupla Ezequiel Pérez Companc/Andrea Caldarelli (Lambo Huracan/Grasser). A dupla Marcel Fassler/Dries Vanthoor (Audi R8 LMS/WRT), que alinhou na pole-position, completou o pódio.

Leonard/Frijns terminaram na sexta posição.

Neste domingo (17/09) Leonard/Frijns venceram a prova principal. A dupla Will Stevens/Markus Winkelhock (Audi R8 LMS/WRT) terminou em segundo, seguidos por Perez Companc-Caldarelli.

Com os principais favoritos enfrentando dificuldades (Perera/Buhk abandonaram, Fassler/D.Vanthoor terminaram apenas em décimo) Leonard/Frijns conquistaram um inesperado título. A dupla campeã somou 82 pontos, oito a mais do que Winkelhock/Stevens.
