A Barwell Motorsport, com um Aston Martin BDR9 Bio-combustÁvel, dominou a 9º e 10º etapas do Avon Tyres British GT Championship, disputadas nos dias 25 e 26 de agosto em Thruxton, na Inglaterra.
A dupla Jonny Cocker/ Paul Drayson venceu a 9º etapa, no sábado (25/08), seguida pela dupla Bradley Ellis/ Alex Mortimer, num Viper Competition Coupe do Team RPM, com a segunda dupla da Barwell, Ben de Zille Butler/ Guy Harrington fechando o pódio.
Cocker/ Drayson largaram da 6º posição e venceram com 33s641 de vantagem para Ellis/ Mortimer, que marcaram a pole-position. Cocker passou Mortiner na 33º volta, e cinco voltas depois já tinha 15 segundos de vantagem.
O brasileiro Thomas Erdos, num Ascari KZ1 R da Damax, largou em 17º, abandonando na 22º voltas. Stephen Keating é o seu companheiro de equipe.
No domingo (26/08), a dupla Ben de Zille Butler/ Guy Harrington venceu a 10º etapa. Jonny Cocker/ Paul Drayson fizeram a dobradinha da Barwell e Bradley Ellis/ Alex Mortimer em 3º.
A prova foi decidida na troca de pilotos. Cocker foi um dos últimos a parar entregando o carro para Drayson. Ben de Zille Butler assumiu a liderança, vencendo com 2s408 de vantagem para Drayson.
Erdos/ Keating terminaram em 16º lugar.
